In my attempts to learn everything I can about the Doctor Who universe (because lulz, I play the Doctor and he knows everything and I don't) I've been reading the Doctor Who wiki and watching the Sarah Jane Adventures. While watching SJA I've come to a conclusion; Elisabeth Sladen is still totally hot.

Work went pretty well today.  I'm getting better at juggling the different students, although 7 hours of it gets a bit wearing.  Hopefully I don't have to work that shift too much.  Yes, I realize a 7 hours shift isn't much compared to some, but it feels like a hell of a long time.

Still looking for a full time job though, hopefully I hear back from a school soon.

Boooored so I'm posting again.

Does anyone else look at their personal flist and think, "Crap, when was the last time I went to the ADD/REMOVE page and updated this thing?"

So, I'm debating between apping two characters.  Either Gandalf at Poly or Luke from the Sarah Jane Adventures somewhere else.  I reeeally shouldn't pick up more characters but I'm very tempted.  I haven't had a new character in like... a month or so?  That feels like forever.  I think since joining I've averaged about one character a month.

Also, today is my first "real" day at work where I'm the primary teacher for the kids.  It's only for 3 hours so I should be fine.  6 hours tomorrow will be the real test.

Okay, it's seriously rude to ignore people's comments.  If your character makes an open post and you just pick and choose who you want to reply to?  That's bad form.  You can rationalize it that the character wouldn't reply to those people but that's bull shit when it's ignoring like 4-5 people in the post.

Also, the number of people/crews I don't like in Poly has really grown in the last few days.

On happy news, I saw WALL-E the other night and it was really, really good.  I didn't think I was going to like it as much as I did.

I saw Wanted too, which was a slight disappointment.  There are just some stunts/action scenes that sound good in theory but can never be pulled of believably in execution, even in a movie that demands a level of suspension of belief.

Damn it, why couldn't I just wait another week before watching today's Doctor Who so I didn't have the massive cliffhanger hanging over me this week?

Soooooo tired.  I really need to get to bed at a more reasonable hour.  Buuuuuut it's more fun to stay up way late, apparently.

So, we had the first ultrasound today.  The baby still looks like... nothing but it is there and we could even see it move and could even tell what its heart rate was.  I know most parents are like, "OMG, it's a little tiny human in there!" but M and are like, "That's freaky.  You sure it's not going to burst through my stomach or something?"  Still, it was really exciting to see it.  Sadly, not twins like we were hoping, but ah well.

So I woke up very suddenly this morning and thought, "Wow... why did I wake up so suddenly?"  My stomach promptly answered with, "Because you're gonna throw up, bitch!"

And it was right.  Ugh.  Stupid kids at the tutoring center getting me sick.

EDIT:  Let it be known that Rizu is evil, wicked, and horrifically cruel!!!

Okay, so in the past week I've been to the grocery store somewhere between 10 and about 40 billion times. At least I feel like I've done stuff this week though, which is nice.

Had an interesting conversation at Blockbuster. For the last few months whenever I rent a movie they scan my card, get this weird look on their faces, go off into some back room or something, come whisper to the manager at the time about "can't find it" and then just come back and rent me my movie anyways. I figure it's because my card was a temp issue that I never got changed out and it was originally opened at a different store. Today I had this conversation:

Blockbuster Guy: Oh, wow, there's a hold on your account.
Me: A hold?
BG: Yeah, looks like you held a movie so long you paid for it, but then returned it. But it was so long it's out of your system, so I need to give it to you. It's Karas?
Me: I returned that like... 6 months ago.
BG: Wow, well, let me get that for you... *goes off for a bit, returns and talks to the manager then comes back to me.*
BG: Well, looks like we don't have it here.
Me: So for the past several months, whenever I rented a movie, this info came up and no one told me because they couldn't find the movie I bought.
BG: Yeah, I'm really sorry about that. Let me take the hold off here...
Shift Manager: Don't worry, it's not like you owe us money.
Me: No, you owe me a movie.
SM: Oh, I guess we do, don't we? I'll talk to the manager when they come in. Call back in a few days and we'll either have your movie or credit your account.

I'm not upset at the two people that helped me, they were super cool about it. But the fact that for almost 6 months no one told me this because no one could find the movie kind of pisses me off. I understand mistakes happen but own up to them!

Okay, Fairy Tail is totally awesome.

Code Geass is okay.  I mean, it's really good but for some reason I'm not dying to get caught up ASAP.  It is good though.  Seems the characters are interesting and likable for the most part.  I'm not sure how much I like Leuloch (or however you spell his name) but I'm hoping the rest of the cast carries the show.  I had the same problem with Death Note and not liking Kira/Light at all and just couldn't get into the story enough to get to where the cast expanded.

Also, I got a job.  I started yesterday.  It's doing math tutoring at a tutoring center.  Not many hours but not hard work either and it will look good on my resume.  Also found out the Jr. High right around the corner is hiring for math, so that's good.  Would be great to work 3 minutes from home and start at 8:40.

So, I told my parents that we found out M had a parasite and that's why she was so sick. And they both went, "Aww, honey, I'm sorry!" and gave her hugs of sympathy. Then when I explained it would be okay because it had a 9 month gestation period and would pop out, my mom screamed and jumped up and down and hugged my wife again while my dad looked very confused as to why my mom was so pleased that M had a parasite. Then once my sister explained it to him he freaked out too. They both thanked me for telling them in such a memorable way.

They're also huge dorks. They've both called me every day since then to shout, "I'm going to be a grandpa/grandma!!!"

And does anyone know a good tutorial for using Photoshop to clean up screencaps for icons? I don't need to make them all fancy (that's beyond me) but I like clear, clean images for my icons.

Also...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAT!!!!!

Tomorrow/Sunday we're telling my parents that M is pregnant.  Since she got to tell her family (which, she totally blew because she started off, "We have some big news!" and they just went, "Yay, we were hoping you were pregnant!") so I get to tell mine.  Here's what I'm thinking:

"Hey, I just wanted to let you know we found out why M has been so sick lately.  It turns out she has a parasite.  It's not a big deal and lots of people get it.  It has a gestation period of about 9 months and then it should be out."

Incredible Hulk was really good.  Not as good as Iron Man, but it was still very good.  I clapped and "eeee'd" when Tony Stark made an appearance (it's at the end and is very obvious, you don't have to peer intently at every inch of the screen for every second like I did).  And I can save you all 5 minutes of your life, there is nothing at the end of the credits.

Feeling much better today about things in general.

Next movie on my list to see is Get Smart next weekend and then Wanted the weekend after that.  Good summer for movies this year.

Rawr.  I love RP, I really do.  And most of the times I love poly.  Yeah, it has its faults, and it's not the perfect game out there but I do think that it's one of the best.  But there are some days I just want to quit.  I was getting very "meh" about poly up until a few weeks ago when I started getting invited to chats.  Since then, I've enjoyed it more than ever.  I love the chats.  I have been bothered though by how often people are spoken about in a negative way in chat.  Honestly, I don't have a problem with it.  People are free to say what they want to each other and sometimes it's healthy to share frustrations.  And sometimes people are so stupid they deserve to be talked about.  I've always felt though that there's truth in the saying that if people talk to you about someone, they'll talk about you to someone else.

And of course, it is true.  I found out today a rather small comment I said in chat about one X not seeming to like my character Y.  Apparently it got back to X-mun that I was "making fun of [them] in chatrooms and in private".

I can only imagine what's being said about me if they got that from the comment I made in chat.  I've never doubted that people talk about me behind my back.  That's part of life and I'm certainly no paragon of virtue.  But I'm sure people have enough ammunition for saying stuff about me without me giving them anymore.  So, I think I'm done with poly chatrooms.  They were fun and I loved them and I really appreciated the invites like you couldn't imagine, but... yeah.

So very, very tired. I need to stop staying up so late but I can't help myself.  Not having a job and able to sleep in until whenever doesn't help at all either.  Also, since I only just realized I play 9 characters at [info]polychromatic I'm going to do this thing:
