Okay, so in the past week I've been to the grocery store somewhere between 10 and about 40 billion times. At least I feel like I've done stuff this week though, which is nice.
Had an interesting conversation at Blockbuster. For the last few months whenever I rent a movie they scan my card, get this weird look on their faces, go off into some back room or something, come whisper to the manager at the time about "can't find it" and then just come back and rent me my movie anyways. I figure it's because my card was a temp issue that I never got changed out and it was originally opened at a different store. Today I had this conversation:
Blockbuster Guy: Oh, wow, there's a hold on your account.
Me: A hold?
BG: Yeah, looks like you held a movie so long you paid for it, but then returned it. But it was so long it's out of your system, so I need to give it to you. It's Karas?
Me: I returned that like... 6 months ago.
BG: Wow, well, let me get that for you... *goes off for a bit, returns and talks to the manager then comes back to me.*
BG: Well, looks like we don't have it here.
Me: So for the past several months, whenever I rented a movie, this info came up and no one told me because they couldn't find the movie I bought.
BG: Yeah, I'm really sorry about that. Let me take the hold off here...
Shift Manager: Don't worry, it's not like you owe us money.
Me: No,
you owe
me a movie.
SM: Oh, I guess we do, don't we? I'll talk to the manager when they come in. Call back in a few days and we'll either have your movie or credit your account.
I'm not upset at the two people that helped me, they were super cool about it. But the fact that for almost 6 months no one told me this because no one could find the movie kind of pisses me off. I understand mistakes happen but own up to them!
